Yu-Chen Cheng
Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Data Science, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Yu-Chen received his MD at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. Since he had a longstanding interest in mathematics and mechanistic modeling in medicine, he then studied Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington, Seattle and obtained his PhD under the guidance of Dr. Hong Qian. His PhD research focused on the theory of random perturbations of dynamical systems and statistical ensemble theory with applications of biology and biophysics. Yu-Chen was awarded The Boeing Fellowship for his PhD study and he received the Boeing Outstanding Research Award. With his MD and applied mathematics PhD background, his current interests involve applying the theories of dynamical systems and stochastic processes to cancer modeling research at DFCI.
