Yu-Chen Cheng
Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Data Science, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Yu-Chen received his MD from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. Driven by a longstanding interest in mathematics and mechanistic approaches to medicine, he subsequently pursued doctoral training in Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington, Seattle, where he earned his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Hong Qian. His doctoral research focused on the theory of random perturbations of dynamical systems and statistical ensemble theory, with applications to biology and biophysics. During his PhD, Yu-Chen was awarded the Boeing Endowment Fellowship and received the Boeing Outstanding Research Award. Building on his dual training in medicine and applied mathematics, his current research integrates dynamical systems and stochastic process theory to develop quantitative models of cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
