April Zhi Zhou

Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Data Science, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

April Zhi Zhou received her PhD in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics from Northwestern University (Advisors: Prof. Michael Miksis and Prof. Petia Vlahovska). She enjoys building mathematical models of physical/biological systems and has worked on topics ranging from microfluidic systems of solid-stabilized emulsions to pattern formations in chemical and ecological systems. During her PhD, April worked on mathematical modeling of surface-trapped particles, where she combined perturbation analysis and numerical methods to formulate and solve multiphase flow problems coupled with particle motions and interfacial dynamics. Currently, her research interest focuses on applying mathematical and statistical methods to study the evolutionary dynamics of tumor progression at DFCI.
