Bingxian Xu

Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Data Science, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Bingxian received his Master’s degree at the University of California San Diego where he constructed dynamical system models to understand how cells respond to external perturbation. After that, he obtained his PhD from the Department of Molecular Bioscience at Northwestern University under the supervision of Prof. Rosemary Braun. At Northwestern, his work revolved around developing novel algorithms to unravel structures hidden within high-dimensional datasets. For example, he constructed time-invariant representation of cells to facilitate the analysis of single cell time series data. At DFCI, Bingxian is interested in understanding how the state of the tumor varies under different conditions and establishing a link between the state of the tumor and the state of the patient.
