Pinar Demetci
Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Data Science, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Pinar develops generative models to study cell state transitions and tissue architecture remodeling in cancer, development, and regenerative medicine. She received her PhD in Computer Science and Computational Biology at Brown University, where she developed optimal transport-based data integration methods for single-cell multi-omics. She earned her BSc in Bioengineering from Olin College of Engineering. Pinar previously studied bacterial genome regulation in Gene-Wei Li’s lab at MIT and was a Schmidt Center Postdoctoral Fellow at the Broad Institute, where her interest in studying cell and tissue dynamics began. In Michor Lab, she is also excited about counterfactual predictions in therapeutics and bridging mechanistic and generative models.
